The Reopening of Trinity Church
A warm welcome to parishioners and visitors alike. Please join us for a shared lunch and fellowship in Trinity Hall following our special service this morning.
THE COLLECT
Great is your faithfulness, O God our Father, and great is our joy as we reopen this church after its rebuild. We thank you for its witness over many years, and we rededicate ourselves as your living church for the spread of the Gospel and the witness of your love in Akaroa and Banks Peninsula. Lead us forward in the power of your Spirit and in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen
MIKES MESSAGE
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Following an excellent fair last weekend, we had a wonderful Community Lunch on Friday, and today we celebrate the reopening of Trinity. What an extraordinary congregation we have of dedicated and hard-working people. Thank you all for your sacrifice of time and talents in the way you come together and cheerfully share your love and faith in very practical ways. St Paul writes to the congregation in Thessalonica, with words fitting for today: “We always mention you in our prayers… [and] We thank God for you all… how you have shown your faith in action.” Jesus says, “You are the salt of the earth!” God bless! Mike

COMBINED CHURCHES’ FAIR

What a wonderful day it was last Sat., 18th Nov. for our Combined Churches’ Fair. Firstly a huge thank you to the Trinity congregation for allowing us to use all their facilities, during such a stressful time of renovations. The work behind the scenes which was carried out so quietly and efficiently to enable us to use both the church and the hall and also the grounds was certainly very much appreciated by us all.
The stalls displayed their goods so attractively, and the selling was brisk. In fact the selling was so good we raised a total of $8,810. What a fantastic team we had, all pulling together towards a common goal, which produced such a splendid result. The raffle baskets, which were beautifully packaged from the donations generously provided by businesses and congregations alike, presented an amazing selection of local produce and other items. These were all very popular choices for the two days they were on sale, and contributed greatly to our wonderful total..
I thank you all so sincerely for your efforts and do hope you enjoyed the experience of working as part of a team to enable us to offer to our church community and the wider community some extra loving support.

POMPALLIER VILLA FOR SALE
Pompallier Village Trust has a villa available for sale now. Interested, or know someone who may be? Phone Kate Clare 304 7228
MONTHLY GROCERY DONATIONS
Please remember your grocery donations each month. If we all contributed one item per month we would have a wonderful amount to donate to Heartlands, for those in our community in need.
THANK YOU – FROM THE FREEZER MINISTRY
We are delighted to report that some wonderful folk have come to the rescue and the freezer is now looking replenished. Thank you so much, your hard work is truly appreciated. The Christmas season is almost upon us and this is when many feel the need of a helping hand. We would still appreciate some more home-cooked and frozen supermarket meals to keep our freezer well stocked. Casseroles and soup can be put in ice cream containers (there is a supply next to the freezer). Please label them with contents and number of servings, and write the details in the notebook on the freezer. If anyone is able to cook a meal, or you know of someone who is unwell or under stress and would appreciate a cooked meal, contact Wendy on 304 7151.
PRAYER GROUPS
Prayer groups are held on Wednesday morning 10.30 am at St Peter’s, and Saturday morning 11 am at St John the Evangelist, Duvauchelle, to pray for the life of our Banks Peninsula parish, and any other concerns, large or small. Everyone is welcome, and those attending on Wednesdays may like to stay on for the 11 am service of Holy Communion afterwards.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Give us the tools and we will finish the job.
